It happened my forge pot had a tiny smoke leak below the table. That stream of smoke moved along the bottom side of the table, looped around the edge, traveled along the top of the table and up the flue. So the first caveat is NOT to use an overhead hood -- you'll lose all your draft right there. OTOH, your "Hood" could be very small and narrow.

I cut the bottom off of my standing work bench in my garage. I'm going to build it up with 2x4s to hold my little anvil and my forge. I'm adapting these plans for a coal forge because it's cheap, and I can try it out without sinking a bunch of money into it first. If I like it a lot, then I can upgrade.

2019年4月29日 The JABOD can sit on a table or steel stand. A 55 forge is another excellent home build and is easy to attach a stack to for clear air in the shop. The JABOD wants a side draft hood and stack and is maybe too portable. If you can weld, there's no real limit to the forge you can build IF you can stand it not being brick and mortar.
